YOUNG ARTISTS COMPETITION
The Solano Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual Young Artists Competition, Saturday, January 23, 2027. Classically trained musicians between the ages of 12 and 21 are encouraged to apply and compete in four categories: vocal, piano, winds, and strings.
Competition Details
First-prize winners in each category will earn the chance to perform their concerto movement, aria, or music theater selection with the Symphony at the annual Salute to Youth concert, occurring on March 21, 2027.
• Open to: Solano and Yolo County students ages 12 - 21
• Four Categories: VOICE, PIANO, STRING, and WIND INSTRUMENTS
• Winners must be available to perform in the Salute to Youth Concert, March 21, 2027, and be available for dress rehearsals with the Symphony on Monday, March 15, and Thursday, March 18 (evening).
• Application deadline December 20, 2026: $30.00 entry fee
• All music must be memorized, and pre-approved by the competition director
• Auditions: January 23, 2027, at Community Presbyterian Church, 425 Hemlock Street, Vacaville from 9 AM to 1 PM
• Awards:
$250.00 for 1st place, in each category, plus a performance with Solano Symphony!
$100.00 for 2nd place, in each category
$50.00 for 3rd place, in each category
